Section 2 Β· The neighbourhood
Punta del Diablo, Rocha

An Atlantic fishing village three hours north of Punta del Este. About 1,200 permanent residents, year-round expat circle (Argentine, German, Swiss).

We'd point you at the quiet bluff above La Viuda beach β€” paved roads, sand-coloured cottages, two cafΓ©s open all year (CafΓ© Olas, Resaca), Sunday market at the lighthouse.

Chosen over La Pedrera because Pedrera empties out in winter. Punta del Diablo stays a real town.
